DanceMakers series

DanceMakers is a fully produced proscenium concert presented by the Texas Woman’s University Division of Dance, featuring adjudicated choreographic works by undergraduate and MFA students alongside select faculty pieces. The concert highlights advanced creative research and developed performance work, offering choreographers the opportunity to present fully realized pieces with theatrical lighting, staging, and production support in a formal performance setting.

Caroline’s original work, Red Thread, was selected through adjudication to be included in the concert. Created as a large-scale proscenium stage piece, Red Thread explored the concept of the “red string theory” — the idea that individuals are invisibly connected across time and space. Grounded in choreographic research surrounding connection, proximity, and relational movement patterns, the work examined how physical pathways and shared weight can symbolize unseen bonds between people. Caroline performed in the piece alongside one other dancer, embodying both the tension and inevitability of connection through partnered structures, spatial design, and recurring movement motifs.

In addition to presenting her own work, Caroline also performed in Meta by Anthony Wade, a piece investigating themes of the metaverse and digital identity. Through dynamic movement and layered staging, Meta explored the intersection of physical presence and virtual existence, questioning how identity shifts between embodied and digital spaces. Together, these works showcased both Caroline’s choreographic voice and her versatility as a performer within contemporary concert dance.
